A history of our business
We are proud to have a long history in the field of downstream petroleum marketing. Below we have outlined programs we have developed for major oil companies in the past. N.B. These companies are not related to our "Fuel Bank" project.
Canadian Tire
Canadian Tire is Canada’s leading automotive and hardware retailer. With the emergence of competitive auto-parts discounters, Canadian Tire realised the importance of identifying, rewarding and communicating with their best Auto-Parts customers in order to keep their custom.
In 1996, Canadian Tire appointed Premier Points to help them achieve their goals and the Auto Parts Advantage Card was born. Using the Premier Points loyalty terminal and database software, Canadian Tire now know who their Auto Parts CASH and CREDIT customers are, what, where and when they buy. We also wrote software for Canadian Tire which enables them to reward customers with an automatic 20% discount based upon a rolling 6 month spend pattern.

Ultramar Diamond Shamrock
Ultramar has operated its Pipeline Reward program at Canadian gas stations since 1983. For 10 years their customers collected coupons and then redeemed against a printed catalog of gifts. Then Ultramar became increasingly concerned about rising administrative costs, operator fraud and coupon forgery.
We were able to come to their rescue with a seamless electronic Pipeline Points program. We installed electronic loyalty terminals at each station to write points on to customer’s cards. Our terminals also have a special software module, which enables the terminal to be switched into an electronic gift catalogue and order desk. This has eliminated the high cost of printing coupons and gift catalogues. Customer gift orders are validated and fulfilled. In this way customers simple order their gift at the station and we look after the rest….right up to delivery to their door.
Ultramar’s Pipeline Rewards programme has played a large part in building some of the highest pumPINg gas stations in Eastern Canada and we are proud to be associated with their success.

Sperry & Hutchison
Green Stamps have been around for over 100 years in the USA. In 1995, S & H decided that the days of licking and sticking were over and they sought a state-of-the-art alternative.
Premier Points came up with the solution and helped S & H create Green Points. We provide S & H with loyalty terminals linked to supermarket cash registers and gasoline POS systems.
The book of Green Stamps is now being replaced by a simple bar coded/mag-stripe card. Our data transfer and data warehouse service gave S & H the instant electronic points infrastructure they needed to re-launch their long trusted stamp program under a new banner….S & H Greenpoints.

Getty Oil
Getty Oil operates over 1200 gas stations in the states of New York, New Jersey and Massachusetts and Virginia. Premier Points were appointed to install a customer loyalty system that linked their stations directly to the new S & H Greenpoint program. Getty have enjoyed the benefits of being a regional franchisee of a nationally branded turnkey loyalty program that will remain on the leading edge of technology.

TNT International Express
The Courier business is fiercely competitive and customers are often fickle. TNT International wanted to find a way to retain customers and build loyalty. Our “Online Rewards” interface provided TNT with exactly what they wanted…an instant PRIVATE BRAND online loyalty program customised for their specific needs and budget. TNT was able to visit our web-site and set up its own program online with no fuss.

Shell Oil
Houston-based Shell makes it a top priority to identify their CASH and BANKCARD customers by name. Whilst gasoline customers typically shop for pump price, Shell’s aim is to build a valuable marketing database and establish one-on-one communications link with their gasoline and convenience store customers.
After searching the marketplace, we were the only company that was able to provide Shell with a ready-to-go system. Using the Premier Points loyalty terminal, Oracle database software and Coca-Cola sponsored rewards, we helped Shell to meet their objectives.

Crown Petroleums
Baltimore-based Crown with 350 gas stations and convenience stores needed an ongoing customer reward program that also captures demographic information about its gasoline purchasers, including those paying by CASH. Crown has a variety of POS systems in their gas stations so the solution needed to stand-alone from the POS.
Premier Points solved the problem with a simple “Stored Value” mag-stripe card that stores the electronic points on the card…..like a low-cost Smart Card. Our read-write terminal adds points to the card on each purchase. Transaction data is polled every night and processed into a valuable marketing database that Crown uses for birthday mailings, new station openings/reconstruction and to entice drifting customers back. During the first 3 months of the program, Crown issued 13 million points on 150,000 cards. Customers collect points for redemption at Subway, Pizza Hut, Olive Garden, and Red Lobster restaurants.

Murphy Oil - Spur
For many years, Spur stations in the Minneapolis area have been giving stamps on gasoline purchases. Customers reaching a full card are rewarded with free gas. Whilst the program was an ongoing success, Murphy became concerned about fraud, abuse and lack of control associated with their paper-based program.
Premier Points cleaned up the problem with the Spur Advantage Card. Loyalty points are stored on the card for all gasoline and C-Store purchases. Our secure loyalty terminal gives Spur the accountability they needed and has eradicated operator fraud. We provide Spur with detailed weekly reports showing who the top 100 customers are for each site, how many visits, grade & quantity purchased and $ spend. This is far more valuable information than they ever had before using an anonymous stamp program.
